Stop Invasive Species In Your Tracks®

PlayCleanGo: A Patented Outreach Campaign that Works

The PlayCleanGo® Stop Invasive Species In Your Tracks® campaign works tirelessly to stop the detrimental impact of invasive species on North America’s lands and waters. Through partnerships with other environmental and recreational organizations, clear messaging, and community-based social outreach, we raise awareness of how and why thousands of invasive species are spread every year. To stop the spread, PlayCleanGo (PCG) provides easy, actionable information to help individuals enjoy our beautiful natural resources responsibly.

Our Story

PlayCleanGo is a branded, patented outreach campaign powered by the North American Invasive Species Management Association (NAISMA). This program was originally developed with significant support from the USDA – Forest Service.

Timeline

  • 2012 – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources launches PCG.
  • 2016 – The Canadian Council on Invasive Species (CCIS) adopts PCG.
  • 2017 – The National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO) adopted PCG in 2017.
  • 2018 – NAISMA fully adopts PCG.
  • 2019 – NAISMA becomes the owner of the official PlayCleanGo brand.

The PlayCleanGo outreach campaign is guided by a national steering committee made up of passionate outdoor enthusiasts. The PlayCleanGo Advisory Committee consists of members who represent all regions of North America including Canada and Mexico. The committee strives to include a broad representation of all recreational activities. The committee’s purpose is to guide the inclusion, diversity, and implementation of the PlayCleanGo outreach campaign.

Our Goal

Educate North America on invasive species.

The campaign’s goal is to protect valuable natural resources while encouraging folks to enjoy the great outdoors. Using community-based social marketing to build brand recognition, our objective is to slow (and where possible stop) the spread of invasive species. This involves changing the behavior of the public and workers at risk of spreading harmful pests living on land or in water.

PlayCleanGo promotes awareness, understanding, and cooperation by providing a clear call to action. PCG challenges everyone to be informed, attentive, and accountable for stopping the spread of all invasive species. We invite others with similar goals to utilize our materials. Join forces with like-minded organizations across North America and become a partner now!
